Yazbukey for Shu Uemura

Yaz Bukey for Shu Uemura

Edit: For your chance to win a nail color and soft gel pencil from the collection, simply follow me on Twitter or Instagram, it’s that simple. Each follow, retweet and regram is worth one entry.  Winner will be picked on or before 1st May.

This week, I was lucky enough to get my hands on the upcoming Shu Uemura collection. The legendary Japanese cosmetics and skincare line have teamed up with designer Yazbukey for their latest and perhaps most exciting collaboration to date.

The collection is based around four different women; Sexy Yaz, Smart Lola, Romantic Betty and Smart Tina, enabling you to channel whichever persona you feel like that day. Here I’ve reviewed the “Sexy Yaz” collection. The packaging is seriously amazing and really reflects the theatrical and unique individuality of Yaz Bukey’s designs. These products will be taking pride of place on my dressing table, and are almost too pretty to use.

POREfinist Anti Shine Fresh Cleansing Oil

This is by far my favourite product of the collection, it’s quite frankly incredible! I applied a few pumps of this to my skin and massaged it in with my hands. I then wet my face a little, to allow the oil to emulsify and rinsed. My skin looked unbelievable, and it’s not often I say that without any makeup on. It was so plumped, radiant and just looked healthy. The oil also had the most beautiful scent; so soft and fresh, stunning.

POREraser UV Under Base Mousse

This product is so exciting and fun to use. It’s also one of the best primers I’ve ever experienced (I usually opt for Mac). It provides an even, matte surface for your makeup to glide onto and perfectly controls oil and shine all day long. It also made my skin look instantly brighter. I think I’ve found my new makeup bag staple.

Yaz Red Nail Color & Rouge Unlimited Supreme Matte Lipstick

I haven’t yet had time to test the nail colour properly, so I can’t comment on longevity and application etc; but this is a classic, stunning shade of red and the bottle is so cute. The lipstick, again is a classic shade and would compliment most skin tones. It also lasts forever, but doesn’t feel at all sticky or heavy on the lips; in fact I didn’t feel like I was wearing anything at all. The texture is fabulous and the lipstick just glides onto the lips – it also kept them moisturised all day long.

Lasting Soft Gel Pencil

This one got the most questions from my friends when taking it out of my makeup bag, it seems everyone has fallen in love with the packaging. It’s a deep brown shade that has the perfect soft, smooth, smudgeable texture upon application. However, once in place it doesn’t budge – it’s waterproof too. Just one thing to be wary of when using this, it’s not retractable – so make sure you only push up the required amount when you’re using it.

I Love my Shu Shu Palette

This palette contains a wonderful array of eye and cheek colours, so bright and so so pretty! You’re also provided with two applicators and a large mirror. The cheek colour looks rather bright in the palette and I was slightly wary of applying it at first, however it actually provides a gorgeous, yet subtle, pop of pink for the cheeks. The eye shadows are pigmented well and the colour selection provides you with a number of looks to create. My favourites had to be the gold and khaki colours in the centre, that provide a hint of shimmer and are perfect for a smoky eye.

 Yaz Bukey for Shu Uemura

The Yazbukey for Shu Uemura collection hits the UK in May. I’m gutted that this is only a limited edition collaboration, so I’ll be making sure I stock up to keep my dressing table decorated. I’d also like to thank Dave Lackie for giving me the opportunity to review these products.

LOVE the packaging! The palette aren’t colours I’d necessarily wear, but I would want one of the lipsticks just to have something with the design!
