Celine Butterfly Marta Sunglasses Unboxing

IMG_7050.JPGScreenshot 2019-04-04 at 17.17.47.pngSummer is the perfect opportunity for new sunglasses, right? I’ve been using the Marta style for a while, but recently decided to sell my black pair on Vestiaire Collective, and switch them up for the tortoiseshell newer butterfly design. Ultimately, they are the exact same design as the Martas, but they’ve been rebranded as “Butterfly Sunglasses” and the new pairs also come with a new style drawstring pouch to house them in. After styling the black pair all summer last year, I kind of just wanted to soften things up, especially as my hair has got a little lighter; and I felt the slightly lighter colour of my new choice pair would work with that a bit better.

A major plus of my mini upgrade is that the new pouch is so much better, offering much more padding to protect the glasses in your bag. I hate oversized sunglasses cases (keep it to a minimum, please), especially as mini handbags are very much in style at the moment. This pouch is perfect, it homes the sunglasses nicely, and won’t take up necessary space in your handbag. You’ll obviously also find a cloth to clean them with inside the pouch too.

Celine Marta Sunglasses

The beautiful black pair I wore all summer last year…

Whilst many Celine designs display the logo on the front of the frames, the Butterfly / Marta style displays them at the side – I quite like that, as I said they are an oversized design, so personally I don’t want them to be overly in your face. The sunglasses are extremely well made, I was constantly jumping in the pool with my black pair on on holiday – I want to know that they will last, especially when I’ve paid a lot of money for something. I find the Butterfly design to be the perfect size for me; they are very statement, but they’re also very in right now, and if you’re worried about them being too dramatic – opt for the tortoiseshell design to soften things up a bit. They can sometimes be a bit hard to come by, as they tend to sell out quite quickly – but John Lewis have a good few pairs in at the moment (I’ve linked them below).

All in all, they’re a beautiful, high quality and bang on trend design that I’m looking forward to wearing lots more this summer.
