A Few Treats from Jo Malone

Jo Malone Black Cedarwood & Juniper, Jo Malone ginger & nutmeg, jo Malone lip balm

Possibly my favourite store ever, anyone who regularly reads my blog will know my love for Jo Malone. I always see Spring as the sign of new beginnings, and so what better way to celebrate that than by purchasing some new treats from Jo Malone. Or, I’m just completely obsessed and use any excuse I can to justify new indulgences from there – I’ll let you decide.

First on my wishlist was the Nutmeg and Ginger Bath Oil*, my boyfriend gets me a bottle of the bath oil every Christmas, and this year I was torn between Nutmeg & Ginger or Blackberry & Bay. I opted for Blackberry & Bay, which is obviously amazing, but I still have quite a bit left of that one – so it was the perfect time to finally try the Nutmeg & Ginger. I suppose I’ve kind of done it a little backwards really, as Blackberry & Bay is a very fresh Spring scent; whilst Nutmeg & Ginger is deliciously spicy and warming, ideal for Winter time. Nonetheless, I adore this scent as a bath oil at anytime of the year really, I’m so glad I purchased it. Not so sure if I would enjoy it as a cologne, but as a bath oil it’s beautiful. Warming notes of sandalwood and cedarwood are thrown in to create a gorgeously spiced scent. The oil turns your bathwater invitingly milky and the scent lingers around for hours afterwards filling up the whole house. This one will most definitely be a repeat purchase.

Jo Malone Black Cedarwood & Juniper

Next up was the Black Cedarwood & Juniper Cologne*, I cannot believe in all my years of fan-girling Jo Malone I’ve never taken an interest in this fragrance. I smelt it for the first time a few weeks ago when  helping a friend shop for wedding fragrances, and I just couldn’t stop thinking about it. This scent to me, is the scent that hits you as soon as you walk into a store – you know that overall Jo Malone scent? I think this is it. It’s certainly not shy, you’ll only need to use a tiny amount, but boy is it something special. It’s quite a masculine fragrance, but leaves such an impression – it’s divine, and very unique too! I feel like I say this about ALL the Jo Malone scents I adore, but this has to be my signature fragrance now; I seriously can’t get enough.

Another item, or entire range really, that I’ve overlooked is the Vitamin E range. I noticed the Vitamin E Lip Conditioner* last time I was in store – I’m a big lip balm lover! – and knew I had to have it. Now this is one high quality lip balm. Soothing, conditioning, softening, moisturising, it’s such a treat; it also has a lovely scent to it and doesn’t leave any annoying residue on your lips whatsoever, you’re just left with a sumptuously soft and conditioned pout. Again, this one will be a continued purchase; I just wish I had discovered it sooner.
