Breakfast in Leeds With a Difference

If you’re fed up of the boring standard breakfast offerings at the moment in Leeds, try these treats for an exciting twist on the most important meal of the day…

La Bottega Milanese

Rumour has it, this place will make you the most luxurious hot chocolate ever – so thick you can stand your spoon up in it. Unfortunately, on this occasion I didn’t sample such a delight – I opted for the more traditional hot chocolate, as I thought it may just be too much paired with my Nutella and banana on sourdough, which – by the way, most defiantly was as amazing as it looks. The hot chocolate was beautiful too, really beautiful; and I’m not a coffee lover but I’ve also heard that these guys serve up one of the best pots of coffee in town. This place is so relaxed and they have such a great use of space, friendly staff and some of the tastiest treats in Leeds on offer, La Bottega Milanese makes for the perfect morning escape.

Le Chalet

For a little French input at breakfast time, head to Le Chalet for indulgent pastries, french toast and chocolate crepes galore. Not a huge lover of sweets? Not to worry, as they also serve up the most amazing egg benedict, or why not try a fluffy, creamy cheese omelette… Still not swayed? They will even cook you up a good old bacon sandwich, with the usual optional extras. This is such a lovely little cafe, with friendly attentive service and the most amazing light and airy space which will really start your day off on a positive note.

Filmore & Union

Looking for something a little more waistline friendly? Then Filmore & Union is your place. These guys are growing and growing at the moment, and rightly so. From feta & avocado on toast, to warming cinnamon quinoa bowls (I opted for both, by the way), you really are spoilt for choice here – and the food tastes just as good as it looks. Honestly, it’s actually hard to tell you’re eating healthy sometimes, that’s how tasty their offerings are. They’re also happy to serve up your dishes as a take-out option (you can even pre-order and collect), perfect for those of us who enjoy those extra few minutes in bed on a morning!

  1. Ooh!! I’m a huge fan of chocolatey hot chocolate. I bet it was delicious!! But you’re right, maybe too much with Nutella too 😉 http://www.ourfoodieappetite.com/lubo-review-virginia-beach-chicks-beach/
