A Little Beauty Haul

There’s something about the change in season, which always makes me want to do a little makeup bag top up / refresh. Here’s the items I’ve been enjoying recently.

Kevyn Aucoin Neo Blush – Not sure why I’ve only just decided to try this, but my goodness I wish I’d tried it earlier, it’s amazing! An ombre style blush that just glides on, and makes my cheeks look incredible, almost filtered. A really stunning blush option, that’s 100% worth the money.

Pat McGrath Large Powder Brush and Under Eye Brush – Some of the best brushes you can get, I keep adding these to my collection, and will continue to do so. Pricey, but once you have them, look after them and they’ll last forever, literally.

Gucci Beauty Hydrating Mist – I won’t lie, this is gorgeous, but… it’s ridiculously priced for what it is – and you really don’t need it. If you are wanting a luxurious treat for yourself, yes, it’s beautiful – and I got it for my wedding day, but it’s really not an essential. Does it hydrate? Yes. Is it lovely to apply? Yes. But there are other products on the market for less than half the price that do just as good of a job.

One Size Setting Spray – This is a decent setting spray, really nice to apply, and it does hold your makeup in place all night. Is it stand out? Not really, it’s good – but so is the MAC setting spray, as is the Urban Decay option, and they are pretty much all on par with each other. That being said, One Size wins for packaging and dressing table potential.

Tom Ford Sheer Highlight Duo – My wedding makeup artist used this on me on my wedding day and wow! I LOVE it, another product that just melts onto the skin and makes me look so filtered. Stupidly priced again, but this time, it’s actually worth it, and although it’s a new product for me – my makeup artist told me that it’s lasted her forever.

Tom Ford Sheer Cheek Duo – Can’t comment on the performance of this one yet, but I won’t lie, I got this because of how impressed I was with the highlight duo. It was a real splurge, but we got some John Lewis vouchers for our wedding, so both allowed ourself a lovely treat each.

Pat McGrath Eye Palette – Pat McGrath eyeshadows are top tier – they are the eyeshadow palettes – so long lasting, and so wonderfully pigmented. There are so many options and colours to choose from, and smaller quads if you don’t want to go full size. It’s worth having a look at the options to see which shades will work for you, but I fancied adding some autumnal bronze sparkle to my makeup bag.

Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Powder – Do I really need to explain this one? It’s just an essential isn’t it. I never buy it without a discount code though, it’s sold on so many different beauty sites, and all the usual options tend to have some form of discount code on offer, so do have a look around. Ps. How gorgeous is the new and updated packaging?

Victoria Beckham Eye Brick – A simple, classic, but essential eye palette, that is really high quality, and an excellent colour palette – I’m really pleased with this, it’s a makeup bag staple, and I’ll purchase it again.
