What I’ve Been up to This Month

Aside from October, June is my all time favourite month. There’s something so magical about midsummer, the garden comes alive, the days are at their longest, and everyone just feels that bit happier, I think. I always like to make an event out of June, and indulge in as many lovely little days out and get togethers as I can.

Indoor dining re opened, and so my friend and I headed over to York for a gorgeous afternoon tea with cocktails at The Impossible. We happened to pick the most beautiful day, so afterwards we went back to mine to enjoy the garden and fruit pastilles ice lollies – we even ended up making ice lolly cocktails, but I forgot to get any pictures of them unfortunately. We put two of the ice lollies into the blender, added a shot of Malibu – then topped up with lemonade. They were incredible – though potentially quite dangerous due to how refreshing they were, and the fact you couldn’t really tell you were drinking alcohol!

Due to not seeing each other in so long, we made a bit of an event of the day, and followed on with a girl sleepover complete with spa themed biscuits, girly donuts, and home made cocktails.

The spa biscuits were from Biscuiteers, something I have a bit of an obsession with ever since my amazing friend sent me some of their garden themed biscuits. How lovely are they?!

June really was a bit of a treat yourself month for me… as I also finally purchased my first ever Annies Ibiza vintage piece. This is my favourite shop ever – and I’ve been waiting for the right vintage find to come up; as soon as this gorgeous 1960’s vintage cardigan dropped, I just knew this was the right piece for me. I’m obsessed.

We’ve also had some really amazing weather, so it’s been lots of time in the garden for us – my happy place!

I’m starting to feel a bit sick writing this post, with all the sweet treats! But finally, I also treat myself *eye roll* to some cherry rum truffles from a local vegan baker, who I also have a bit of an obsession with. Rum truffles are one of the chocolates I love the most – and add cherry to the mix, I really am in heaven.
