What I Did For Valentines Day

So it would have completely messed up the title, but this is a what I did for Valentines Day, and what I’ve been up to this weekend (see what I mean) post; and when I was putting this together, I realised this post is probably 90% sugar… so if you’re on a bit of a new year health kick, it might be best to avoid this one…

Usually, we would go to our favourite restaurant for V’Day, but obviously, well that’s not happening right now is it! So I thought I’d make something of the occasion at home instead, and put together a huge cheese and dessert platter for us both to enjoy. Yes, this was just for two of us… and yes, we ate most of it! Most of the bits I bought from the supermarket, but I did make the strawberries myself (groundbreaking, I know); and then the other dessert bits were from our wedding cake maker.

I also finally managed to get a gorgeous frame for a recent gift our wedding stationery illustrator sent us, it’s so beautiful and I’ve been desperate to put it up, I just couldn’t find a frame I loved enough – but now I have!

We’ve been enjoying some really good TV recently. I think I already mentioned The Serpent, and now we’ve moved onto The Bay. This weekend we also started watching the new Netflix documentary on the Cecil Hotel.

I’ve also been taking the time to enjoy lots and lots of books, in between my revision. That’s one positive I can take from lockdown, enjoying the time to read again. However, I seem to have developed this bad habit where every time I read… it must be accompanied by a sugary / sweet snack… hmm. Here are just a few I’ve enjoyed – though I do probably need to rein it in a bit now. If you were wondering, the Chupa Chups drink does actually taste like the lolly, and the mini egg chocolate is wonderful!
