A Huge Stationery Haul

Every time we have a lockdown, I seem to revert back to hobbies I used to love as a child – it’s not a bad thing, it’s quite lovely actually – but this latest one seems to be scrapbooking and drawing. It’s been a really nice form of distraction and made me realise just how much I love it.

Because of the enjoyment I’ve been taking from it, I decided to treat myself to lots of new stationery bits. Does anyone remember the book Jaqueline Wilson – Bad Girls? The main character in it had a rainbow pen set, and always did lots of drawings… I was obsessed with it – imagining all the colours, and all the drawings, and I think it may be where my love of stationery began, and so in a little bit of a nostalgic tribute to that, I invested in all the beautiful coloured pens, and pastel notebooks, ready to try and make the most of the slowdown.

My favourite shops for stationery have to be Paperchase, and Papier – but I’ve also started discovering lots of little Instagram stationery boutiques too, which I find offer such cool and unique little pieces, plus it’s always nice to support smaller businesses. The paper chase pen set and pastel highlighters I was actually lucky enough to get for Christmas this year, and to go with them, I decided to treat myself to a gorgeous personalised notebook, as a little pick me up for January – it does actually have my name on it, but I did blur it out, obviously for privacy.

I also thought it was time I invested in some proper watercolour and calligraphy pens, as I find it so relaxing and would really like to start creating some lovely bits for my friends and family – especially in this lockdown, as I know everyone is finding this one extra tough. I’m by no means a pro, but I’m looking forward to experimenting with all my lovely new pieces, and hopefully getting better and better – so fingers crossed, watch this space πŸ™‚
