I Bought THAT Gucci Candle

Right, let’s get one thing straight to begin with… spending Β£225 on a candle is stupid, don’t ever spend Β£225 on something you literally burn away – a candle – no one ever needs to do that. However, spending that on a candle that is actually a piece of art, designed by an artist you have a slight obsession with – okay, not as bad. That right here, that’s what I did.

I’ve wanted the Gucci Fumus Star Eye Candle for a long time now, mainly due to the fact that I’ve always wanted to own some Richard Ginori porcelain – and the colours and design of this, are just so very very me. So when Farfetch put their ridiculously amazing Black Friday offer live, I knew it was time. You see I didn’t actually buy this for the candle at all, I bought it for the stunning porcelain pot – whenever I am able to, I do like to occasionally invest my money into art (I’m clearly getting old and boring…), and to me, this stunning piece is art.

That being said, the candle in there is pretty decent too, and putting the two together – it’s actually a really good price. The wax has a 68 hour burn time, and is nicely sized (it’s bigger than your standard Jo Malone candle – for comparison), and the scent and projection is HUGE, huge and very unique – it’s definitely a special occasion burn! Then once you have burnt this down – and I do think that will take a little while – the pot can be kept forever, and used as a stunning trinket storage.

So yes, I bought THAT Gucci candle. But my goodness for the beautiful piece of art I’m glad I did. Will I be making a habit of purchasing Gucci candles? Well, no – unfortunately I’m not rich… and so this indulgence was a very special one off; but you know what, those one offs, they make these things all the more special, wouldn’t you agree?
