This weekend has been filled with lots and lots of chocolate, Christmas trees, cold weather, and fun – it’s been lovely. Yesterday my sister and nephew and I enjoyed a walk around York, with a trip to The Ivy for brunch, cocktails and dessert. My nephew even had a Sipsmith (non alcoholic) gin cocktail – which he thought was the most wonderful thing ever!
After slightly too much food, we headed off down to The Shambles for a look around all the lovely little shops, including the gorgeous chocolate one, where we indulged in a chocolate shot each – literally just pure chocolate, in a chocolate cup – absolute heaven. It was so nice to get out and about again, and we felt really safe wherever we went with all the precautions places had taken.
Last week we put the tree up… it may have even been the week before! And I’ve been adding lots of lovely new baubles to my collection again this year. Every year I purchase one that reminds me of that year; and I found a beautiful white toadstool decoration from Anthropologie, which is on its way in the post at the moment. I thought it was perfect for this year, due to all the lovely woodland walks we’ve enjoyed.
Hot chocolate is one of my favourite indulgences ever, and I’m forever trying different ones. I just discovered all these lovely flavours from Pendragon drinks, so I’m looking forward to making some gorgeous creations with them.
I also completed my Christmas wrapping mid week; I’ve gone for a traditional red and white theme this year. I always enjoy putting lots of effort into my wrapping, and having a theme too – I’ve already started planning next years in my head… oh dear.
To end the weekend, we took a trip out to see our dogs brother, and had a bit of a play, and swapped Christmas presents. We usually like to make an event of it and do something in the house, but obviously we can’t this year – however this actually turned out to be just as lovely, as the dogs were SO excited to be outside and have a huge open field to run around in!
