A Huge Autumn Haul

It’s that time of the year again where I decide to have a huge clear out of my wardrobe and makeup collection – sell anything I haven’t used within a year or so, and make lots of extra money for new additions. I do it every autumn, there’s something about a major seasonal change isn’t there, that seems to represent fresh starts – and it always makes me want to invest in new treats.

One of the items I treat myself to – which is non fashion and makeup related – is The Moonchild Tarot. I’ve wanted it for SO long, to go with my Starchild Tarot, but they are very pricey (albeit absolutely stunning), so its not really something I could justify a spur of the moment splurge on; so after a good few months, I finally decided to treat myself; and also added a few extra crystals to my collection too, at the same time.

I’ve started using scrunchies to tie my hair up now, as I read that normal hair ties can cause hair breakage – and I’m a bit obsessed with trying to keep my hair healthy. Anyway, I’ve been using them for a few months now, and I must admit I’ve seen a difference – so I decided to treat myself to a proper silk set in gorgeous pinks, creams, browns and black. I think they’re a good haircare investment, and also look super pretty too.

Makeup wise, to be fair I didn’t need too much – but I did treat myself to two Charlotte Tilbury palettes. One was the new palette of pops that’s just been released – although no review as of yet, as I haven’t had the chance to road test it; and while I was at it, I topped my collection up with the Pillow Talk palette of pops. That one is a firm favourite in my collection, and has been for a while. Oh and I also added two of the Mac Powder Kiss lipsticks to my makeup collection too, as nothing quite says autumn as much as a matte velvet lip.

I also added a couple of new Chlobo cute charm bracelets to my collection. I’ve collected them for years, and I’ve been lucky enough to build up a gorgeous rose gold and silver stack; so I thought it was time to treat myself to a couple more.

And now for jumpers… of course. Lot’s and lots of jumpers! So, where do I begin? Perhaps with the Ganni knit of dreams; seriously, I’ve been after this knit for SO long, and it sold out stupidly fast last year – but the good old Outnet pulled through, and had a huge huge Ganni drop about a month ago, and I finally managed to grab myself one. It’s 100% wool, so should (fingers crossed) last a long long time in my wardrobe – and it’s a classic, timeless style – these are such wardrobe winners if you get the chance to grab one. Last year I stopped buying acrylic jumpers, just because I’d find they were too bobbly and tatty after just a few washes, and I started seeing them as a bit of a waste of money. So now I only go for ones that have proper wool or cashmere content – yes, they are a bit pricier upfront – but actually, a good material can actually last a lifetime, so I now find myself not buying as many; as I still have a gorgeous wardrobe full from last year too. Two of the best high street brands for picking up decent quality knits without the stupid price point, are H&M and & Other Stories. H&M have an amazing premium collection, and really good quality pure wool and cashmere knits – I even managed to get a pure wool camel coat from there last month for Β£120 – it looked exactly the same as a Β£700 piece from Max Mara – and was made from the same material; you just have to keep your eye out for the pieces though, as they sell fast. & Other Stories are also brilliant and always manage to have such on trend pieces – I picked up three gorgeous knew ones this autumn, which shouldn’t go out of style either – I’ll link them below. A good hint too, if you want your clothes to last, is to invest in a steamer, and also a good wool & cashmere spray; I’d recommend the one from The Laundress (again I’ll link below) – it’s gorgeous.

I mentioned The Outnet above, but honestly they’re amazing for grabbing designer discounts; and they’ve had some pretty fantastic drops this month. I managed to add another sequin Retrofete dress to my collection, at almost 70% off! And in the most stunning – seriously – brown shade ever. I also managed to pick up this fun Chinti & Parker (a brilliant, but pricey cashmere brand) cashmere sweater too, again hugely discounted with The Outnet.

Finally, I managed to get my hands on one of the Anine Bing – Terry O’Neill collabs, in the form of the Ramona Sweatshirt. Vogue described these as a collectors piece – and this one was just so very me. Again, quite pricey – but will last and last, as oppose to me buying a cheaper one, and having to replace it every few months.

I’ll link as much as I can below, but hopefully this post has managed to give you a little bit of autumn wardobe inspo, fingers crossed.
