What I’ve Been Up to This Month

I’ve really started feeling the seasonal change this weekend (which I always love), and thought it was the perfect time for an end of summer catch up blog. I’ve had my usual clear out today of my wardrobe – listing for sale any old wardrobe and makeup items I no longer use / have an interest in – ready for some new seasonal purchases… stay tuned for a haul!

I had another week off work this week, and got to spend some time with both my mum and my nephew. We started the week off with a trip to my favourite, Piccolino, to make the most of the Eat Out to Help Out scheme; where I enjoyed cocktails again, and my favourite dish ever – seafood linguine.

I also (oh dear) had seafood linguine the evening before too – when I met my friend for dinner and an espresso martini – well, we were making the most of the discount!

Earlier in the week, my Mum took me on a surprise day out to a place called Breezy Knees – it’s a garden centre and cafe, but it has so many endless beautiful gardens to walk around and explore. It was such a nice day out, and so completely different to the norm.

On Thursday, I spent the morning in Haworth with my nephew, where we got some breakfast and had a little mooch around the shops – it’s a really nice way to spend a morning, and we particularly enjoyed the old apothecary style shops.

We then spent the afternoon in our local woods, on a monster hunt! I love love love going here for walks, one of the best things about lockdown this year was discovering how much I enjoy doing such simple things like this.

Then the rest of the weekend was spent enjoying some lovely food and good TV. I had another cocktail and cake night on Saturday, then cooked a big Sunday lunch on (obviously) Sunday. I started watching I Hate Suzie this weekend, which I’m enjoying – and also Fleabag (I know I’m way behind with that one). I’m also looking forward to watching the new Netflix film I’m Thinking of Ending Things, next week. It looks delightfully weird and unsettling (right up my street), so I shall keep you posted once I’ve watched it.
