Goodness me, this week has been so busy, but so amazing too. The festivities kicked off again on Friday, when I headed over to The Ivy with my friends for our annual Christmas meal.
We had lots of food, lots of fun, and lots of cocktails. It was lovely, and a really nice and relaxed way to kick off Christmas week…
We also had our dogs brother over on Friday for a dog Christmas day, complete with human and doggy afternoon tea, presents, lots of playing, and lots of kisses and cuddles. It was so, so much fun… and both dogs were absolutely shattered for the rest of the weekend! I also put together a homemade afternoon tea – well, home made is a slight lie, as I bought most of it from M&S and just assembled it – but regardless, I was pretty proud of it!
On Saturday, my family and I headed into Leeds for the final day of the Christmas market. We always have a lovely time there, just wandering around tasting all the food from the individual stalls, and my nephew particularly loves it as one of his favourite things to do is try and crash into everyone on the bumper cars!
Sunday was a more relaxed day – our Christmas food shop was delivered – and we battled with the fridge for a while, trying to squeeze everything in. Then in the evening I went to our local church with my friend, for a Carols by Candlelight service – I won’t lie, it’s not somewhere I normally venture, but I’ve always wanted to do it, so this year I made the effort to – then it was back home for the His Dark Materials finale and lots and lots of cheese!
Tomorrow, I have my family joining us on Christmas eve, and I’m preparing lots of party food, for a huge feast in the evening. Christmas Day we always head over to my Uncles house for a large family gathering, and then on Boxing Day I’m cooking up a huge Christmas dinner part two, as my boyfriends parents are joining us.
As always, a huge thank you to everyone who has been kind enough to keep up with and follow my blog this year. It means more than you’ll ever know. I hope everyone has the loveliest Christmas, filled with lots and lots of love and roast potatoes!
