I’ve finally finished all my Christmas shopping, and this week I took a couple of hours – with Harry Potter in the background to keep me company, and wrapped everything. I always like to make a big effort with my wrapping, and this year decided to go with a bit of a different theme, which I’m really pleased with! Now I just have to keep them hidden until the big day.
We were going to head off to the Christmas Markets on Friday night, but it was so cold and wet all day, we swapped our plans in favour of a family night in with a KFC feast, a huge box of fudge, and the new Christmas film on Netflix – Klaus. Much cosier than being outside in the icy rain.
On Saturday I headed over to the absolutely stunning Carlton Towers for a festive afternoon tea experience. The place is pretty breathtaking, and the afternoon tea was a lovely experience – way, way too much food to finish (which is always a good thing – and the whole place has the most festive feel to it. It’s definitely something I’d consider doing again next year.
I’m getting really excited now for Christmas week. We finished our Christmas food shop (online, much less stressful!) and have that coming next Sunday – with copious amounts of cheese thrown in, exciting. I’m also going to our local church next Sunday for a carols by candlelight service, which should be lovely; and I think we are going to give our cancelled Christmas Markets trip another go, in hopefully drier weather. Lot’s to look forward to, I can’t wait!
