The Festivities Are Sneaking In…

It’s finally starting to look and feel like Christmas! Last weekend I passed my second to last audit exam, and this means I can now wind down, relax and allow myself to enjoy Christmas. The start of that season for me this year, began with a family trip to the Leeds Christmas Market. Lots of food, sugar and fun – as always – was had. Gosh how I have missed those Baileys hot chocolates!

I also had a morning off work this week – so took the opportunity to meet my lovely friend and her new baby. We headed over to The Wild Plum in Harrogate, and had the usual pancake favourite (top picture). You can’t really beat it… I also picked up these absolutely gorgeous little Christmas decorations, and couldn’t resist putting them out straight away. We actually want to do up the tree this week, as we have our nephews sleeping over at the weekend for our annual Christmas sleepover, and it just wouldn’t be the same if the tree wasn’t up!

I found myself having a mooch around Leeds City Centre one night this week also – well, actually, the really boring story is I had a dental appointment, so allowed myself a little shop afterwards as a treat – anyway, it really got me in the festive mood! Everywhere is so sparkly, warm and pretty. Oh, and check out these gigantic gingerbread men I picked up for our nephews sleeping over. My boyfriend also grabbed us a Cadbury advent calendar each – I had put a special request in with him for these – all the advent calendars on the market these days, but this one is the only one I’m interested in. It just wouldn’t be Christmas without it.

I then rounded an absolutely gorgeous week up by meeting my two friends in Manchester for a chocolate afternoon tea. I won’t go on about it too much in this post, as I’m going to give it its own post – but it was fantastic. And after a very rainy drive home, it was time for the sofa with curly fries and popcorn to enjoy His Dark Materials. I’m not sure if you guys have been watching it, but it’s probably one of my favourite things I’ve EVER watched. I loved the books, and this is so rare, but I actually think I’m enjoying the TV series just as much, if not more! It’s on BBC1 if you’re interested, and it’s fantastic.
