Chocolate Afternoon Tea, Fun, Flowers, and Lots of Food

It’s been a while, I know! Exam studying, wedding planning, finishing the house, taking on a new fitness routine and getting to grips with a new job have all left me with little spare time… and whilst I’ve been planning away in the background, and collating content for my blog – finding the time to sit down, put it all together and update you all has taken me a while. But hey, I’m here, and I have a lovely, relaxed, chatty post documenting all the fun (and food) I’ve been getting up to (and eating) this month. ps. Does anyone elses life basically just revolve around food..?

Food then… lots of lovely breakfasts squeezed in at my usual spot, french toast sandwiches galore and catching up with lovely friends far and wide. The weather started off wonderfully earlier on in the month, and made way for lots of gorgeous dog walks and adventures, soaking up all the beautiful nature that the UK has to offer us.

One of my favourite weekends recently consisted of a lovely long dog walk with my boyfriend, mum and nephew passing herb gardens and nature trails… then back to our local garden centre for gin and fish finger sandwiches – perfection.

This gave me the inspiration to finish off our garden, and plant lots of gorgeous new things to really make the most of summer. I can’t wait for everything to spread and grow now (I also snuck a few fairy garden features in, if you can spot them)… that then obviously paved the way for a BBQ excuse, and we’re hoping the weather clears up to allow another one this weekend – keep your fingers crossed for us, please!

Speaking of gardens, most days I pass the most beautiful flower garden ever, and when we were experiencing the lovely weather, I just had to stop and take a picture – it was stunning and gave me so much inspiration for how I’d love part of our own to look. I thought I’d share, so that you can enjoy the beauty and colour too…

Unfortunately all good things must come to an end, hey? And with that, along came the rain… No more long dog walks, but lots of cosy snuggles instead. It was also a great excuse to go and see Aladdin. Has anyone else seen it yet? I absolutely LOVED it, it’s always been my favourite Disney film, and Friend Like Me is my favourite Disney song ever, I’m so so so glad it didn’t disappoint – I had been waiting for it all year. Next on my list is Toy Story, I’m hoping to take my nephew to see it next week, it’s another one I’ve really been looking forward to.

This weekend I ventured back to Godiva for some more chocolate afternoon tea (top picture) and a little bit of shopping. I took my mum along, and we were both in a total chocolate coma afterwards, completely worth it though.

I’d also gone for one of my favourite breakfasts in the morning – but sensibly (and tactically) opted for the savoury choice…

After all the eating and shopping it was back home for an evening on the sofa with cheese and biscuits (are we getting old? I love it!) and finally a watch of the new Liam Gallagher film. I also brought myself home a little treat from Godiva – the chocolate covered strawberries… fruit and chocolate – balance. A lovely weekend, and a lovely month gone by to remember. I can’t wait to see what my next catch up on here brings.
