Pancakes, French Toast & Matcha Lattes

I really look forward to pancake day, it’s really fun isn’t it, and a great chance to bring out your inner child and seriously indulge. It kind of signifies the start of Spring for me, so it’s an exciting time all round, as one of my favourite things is the changing of the season. I asked my boyfriend to pick up a few bits whilst I went to yoga, so that we could enjoy it when I got home, I did literally mean “a few bits”, but he ended up going all out (which I am not complaining about), and it turned into a bit of a pancake party. I’m not too keen on pre made pancake mixes mind, so we never got round to using the red velvet stuff… the fun is in throwing the mix together too (cue the Matilda song).

I also paid another visit to my favourite breakfast place ever, The Wild Plum again (top picture). Now I almost always go for the pancakes, or the corn fritter if I’m in a savoury kind of mood… but I decided to try the french toast this time and oh my god, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it since… amazing!

I’m kind of obsessed with matcha lattes at the moment, I’ve been trying to have one a day every morning with soy milk, and to my delight my favourite tea shop T2 have just brought out this amazing range of flavoured matcha – I can’t get enough of their mint chocolate chip and salted milkshake flavours, I’m really hoping they don’t discontinue them, and I’d highly recommend. I’ve noticed how great I’ve been feeling too, just by drinking one cup a day, so it’s really something I want to try and keep up to.

My Mum and I had a lovely day out recently where we went for another nosey at our wedding venue, I like to do that every now and again – you know, just to make sure it’s still there…

We’ve also been adding loads more bits to the house, including finally getting our bedroom light up. I’m absolutely in love with it and it just completes the room perfectly.

Back in December I went to The Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art in Newcastle and found a piece that I adored so much… I went away to think on it, and a good few months later I still couldn’t stop thinking about it, so thought it was about time I took the plunge and ordered it. I framed it in a simple John Lewis frame and it’s been put up in our office, another one that I’m really really happy with.

At the moment we also have a bit of an obsession with fresh lilies, they look beautiful, only cost a few pounds and fill up the entire downstairs floor with a heavenly perfumed scent. We’ve been keeping up to them since January now, and they’re actually loads cheaper than having scented candles on the go. Perfect!
