Trying Out Three Skincare Essentials From Glossier

Glossier Milky Oil, Glossier Solution, Glossier Priming Moisturizer Rich

I’ve raved and raved about Glossier as a brand on here many a time… I won’t bore you again, but in a nutshell – I love Glossier. I love the packaging, I love their social media channels, I love what they aim for as a brand, and most importantly, I love their products. Just recently, I’ve been trying out three of their better known skincare products and so I thought I’d share my opinions… PS. There’s a discount code link at the bottom of the page (just in-case you were keen).

Milky Oil

The newest baby of the range, Milky Oil is, in a nutshell, a waterproof makeup remover. Does it work? Yes. Is it groundbreaking? Honestly, no. It’s a 50/50 combination of micellar water and “weightless oil”, full of goodies like Pro-Vitamin B5, which; if anything makes for a really cool packaging effect. Now, don’t get me wrong, it did what it says on the tin – it removed my makeup; but did it make waves in my beauty routine? Not really no. It’s a decent product, but there are better ones on the market too. I also found the price a little misleading, as the bottle is quite small – but my bad for not looking into that. If you’re having a little haul on the website already, and you need a makeup remover, give it a go – it’s not a bad product by any means… but if you’re on the hunt for something long term, like I say, there are better ones out right now. On the plus side, the packaging is fab, and that’s for both looks and practicality – Glossier always kill it with this one, so a big well done on that front.

Solution

Hmm, Solution. This is a chemical exfoliator that claims to transform skin in 4 weeks. If you’re not familiar with these kinds of exfoliators, it’s not the “scrubby” type of exfoliator you’ll be used to – these, fairly newish to the market types instead use acids (don’t be frightened of that word, not the nasty ones you’ll be thinking of) to gently dissolve the dead skin cells. Did this transform my skin? No. (and PS. I used the whole bottle before I wrote this review). But, to be fair, I didn’t have scarring to banish, and one of the USP’s for this, is aimed at people with acne scared skin. It softened my skin, yes, and I found it pleasant enough to use, but again there are much, much better alternatives on the market right now. Also, as much as it worked for me, there are actually quite a few not so great reviews out there on this one – if you are thinking of purchasing it, maybe have a look into that. I can only write about my own experience here, and mine was absolutely fine – but I do know that it doesn’t work for all skin types. Again though, the packaging on this one is incredible. It has one of those push down dispenser tops – like the ones you get at the nail salon – and it’s great, so much so, that once I’d finished the product, I washed it out and used it to dispense my Lush Eau Roma Water.

Priming Moisturizer Rich

This hasn’t been the most glowing of reviews so far has it? That’s about to change. This product is incredible. Seriously, I bloody love it. This one is now a permanent addition into my skincare routine – I’m actually on my second pot. I can’t get enough. I slather it on when I’m at home in the day and not wearing makeup, and I can notice an instant improvement in the texture and tone of my skin. I find it to be like a little complexion blurrer almost, and my skin instantly looks much healthier when I apply it. It has a whole host of goodies thrown in there, Lavender Oil (which provides a gentle and calming – non irritating scent); Shea and Murumuru butters; Ceramides 3 & 6; Red Algae Complex; Fatty Acids; and anti redness Power Primers. As sad as it sounds, I look forward to applying this to my skin, it’s like a little treat for my complexion. I hope they never stop making this one.
