A Mini Homeware & Trinkets Haul

I’ve been at it again with the homeware bits… I’m obsessed! The new house novelty still hasn’t worn off, and I seem to spend all my spare time at the moment just pouring over the Anthropologie website in awe…

Doing so, actually led me to the discovery of Habitat; well, I mean, I didn’t discover Habitat did I… it’s been around forever, but what I did discover, is how amazingly cool it’s become as of late – which then led me on to the discovery of the new Jackson & Levine collection. I think I had initially googled “anthropologie style plates” and it let me here, because lets face it, as beautiful as they are, they are SO expensive for plates. However plates got completely sidetracked when I noticed this stunningly beautiful vase. Now I didn’t think it was possible to get quite so excited over a vase… yes, a vase. But I did, and my excitement levels were potentially way over what’s could be classed as normal, for, again, a vase. Anyhow, said vase is now sitting beautifully in my kitchen, complimented by an extremely realistic looking bunch of tulips. Unfortunately, the collection sold out in hours, and doesn’t look like it will be making a return, but I’ll link some other equally as cool Habitat pieces below that are most definitely in stock at the moment.

So back to Anthroplologie. If you do keep up with my blog, you’ll know I have a bit of a penchant for pretty tea wares, and these gorgeous mugs really caught my eye. At first I couldn’t decide if they were amazing, or horrendous, so I thought I can order them, and with the free returns, just ship them back if it’s a no go. Well they came, and as soon as I saw them in person I knew that I adored them. They’re so unique, so quirky and just look super cool around the home. I’m really glad I bought these, I’ve not seen anything else like them – and they’re also pretty big mugs too, perfect for homing winter drinks.

Speaking of winter drinks, I think I mentioned it in my moving house post, but I recently purchased the new Hotel Chocolat Velvetizer – ultimately, a hot chocolate machine. I did wonder if I really needed a hot chocolate machine, but wow it hasn’t disappointed. I wouldn’t say its a kitchen essential, but if you drink copious amounts of hot chocolates like me, you’ll love it. It encourages proper drinking chocolate (real chocolate flakes, none of that awful powdered stuff), and blends it to perfection – the temperature also comes out perfect, meaning you don’t have to wait ages to drink it – and if you’re anything like me, keep constantly burning your mouth because you can’t actually wait… I’ve really been enjoying mine, and think it would also make a lovely Christmas gift, but again guys, it’s not a must have item, and it costs £80, so don’t be pushed into buying it unless you do actually really enjoy hot choc – I don’t really drink too much tea and coffee – so I will get the use out of it, but we’re coming up to what can be a super expensive period, so do just think it through first.

Speaking of the festive period, I also discovered these gorgeous little tree trinkets and good lord they’re bloody incredible. I say little, they’re actually huge for tree decorations – and I’m actually considering using the hot air balloon (my favourite by a mile), to just hang up all year round and decorate the corner of my bedroom where all my trinkey-y bits are. In fact, who am I kidding, I already have. Apart from the fact that it hangs, there’s nothing else distinctive about it that assigns it to Christmas really, and I think it’s too beautiful and precious to only be enjoyed one month of the entire year.

I also picked up a cotton candy one and a stack of books, which I will keep to the tree when it goes up. The book stack does have a real festive feel to it, and whilst the cotton candy one, not so much – it was just too beautiful not to pop in my basket. I can’t wait to hang them on the tree!
