Pancakes, Potions, Cocktails & Cheese – What I Did This Weekend

June is my birthday month, and as most typical girls… I class the whole month as a celebration, and like to fill it by doing as many lovely things as I can. This weekend was no exception and it was made even better by the beautiful weather we’re still lucky enough to be experiencing at the moment… I’m keeping everything crossed that this continues over the coming weeks.

It’s also my sisters birthday this month, so on Friday evening we went for a lovely family meal. It’s so nice when you are surrounded by all the people you love, and you don’t even need to check your phone, because everyone you could possibly want to talk to at that time is right there with you. Cheese fondue and pink gin were the highlights of the evening… we also had lots of fun with some pug lego that I picked up for myself my nephew, it was just a couple of pounds in Tesco and is ideal for anyone that’s pug obsessed.

Saturday started off with breakfast at my favourite place, The Wild Plum. Strawberry sodas, iced lattes and pancakes (top picture) made for the most gorgeous morning. I’m actually returning here for breakfast on the day of my birthday itself, and after yesterdays food, I’m on a serious countdown.

I also got lots of wear out of my new Givenchy handbag this weekend, I blogged about it a while back (click here to see that), but I’ve been waiting for the perfect opportunity to wear it out… well this weekend it hasn’t left my side, and I think it will be making many more appearances over the next couple of weeks.

Later on in the afternoon I went into Leeds to meet my friend for afternoon tea. Afternoon tea is really our thing, and we like to try as many different ones as we can. This time we went for a gin inspired afternoon tea, which was one of our favourites so far. I won’t talk about that one too much, as I have a full blog post coming up about it, but needless to say we really enjoyed the afternoon.

I also did a little bit of shopping in Leeds. First port of call was a crystal shop called Global Tribe Crystals, to pick up some little bits. Again, I have a full blog post coming up about my love of crystals, as it’s something I really adore. I also went into T2 (the best shop ever), I can’t ever walk past without popping in… and then into Neom to stock up on the sleep body oil this stuff is so powerful! I put it on my chest last night, and had the most intense, deep sleep ever. It’s really good for you, and is made up of pure essential oils… I love Neom, and it’s also the perfect place to pick up gorgeous gifts for your friends too.

We then headed over to Harvey Nichols for a couple of cocktails and some relaxation… we also had to check out the shoe section whilst we had a wander through, and also the gin section of the food hall, as I love to see what flavoured gins they have on – Harvey Nichols have a really decent selection of gin in there, which is always worth a look. I also saw a gorgeous Chanel eyeshadow palette on the way out, which I’m contemplating purchasing. I’ve never tried any of the Chanel palettes before, but the colours really caught my eye…

After that it was back home for a bit of a pamper evening, then a night on the sofa with the boyfriend and dog. We ordered lots of starters from the Chinese takeaway and had a catch up on Love Island. Has anyone else been watching it? It’s a real guilty pleasure, but I do find it hard to keep up with it being on for a whole our almost every single evening… so Saturday night was a great chance for us to catch up on the episodes we had missed earlier in the week.
