My Favourite Manchester Eateries and Cocktail Bars

Menagerie Manchester

Manchester, one of my favourite cities ever. If you read my blog regularly, you’ll see that I like to visit Manchester quite often. It has so, so much to offer in terms of eating, drinking and shopping (my three favourite ways to spend a good weekend), but there are some places that keep me coming back time and time again:

Tattu

The food at Tattu makes me return time and time again. It serves up Chinese style cuisine, but in the most imaginative and unique way. The service here I’ve always found to be amazing; and the cocktails are pretty damn special too. Favourite dishes and recommendations have to be; Crispy Pork Belly; Dumplings (any and all types, there are a few and they’re all cooked to perfection here); Crispy Chilli Beef; Sausage and Duck Egg Fried Rice. Drinks wise, the Nutella Espresso Martini is a must; and with regards to dessert the Cherry Blossom is the nicest dessert I’ve ever had in my life, ever. Seriously.

If I could only pick one restaurant in the entire city, it would 100% be Menagerie. I adore it. The decor, the food, the drinks, the afternoon tea… everything about it is perfect. It’s such a fun, chilled out place to dine and is located right by the river so makes the perfect spot to sit out and enjoy a cocktail or two in the summer.

Secret Tip: The “Beautiful Mane” cocktail is the one pictured here in the pineapple cup. It’s not actually on the menu, but if you ask for it – they are more than happy to make it. It’s a really refreshing pineapple mix (although you probably already guessed that by the cup…)

San Carlo Bottega

San Carlo Selfridges Manchester

Gucci Soho Disco Handbag

The most beautifully decorated cocktail bar and restaurant, located right in the middle of Selfridges. Again, service is second to none and the cocktail list goes on forever – there’s so much choice. I could quite happily spend a good few hours in here just relaxing and making my way through the imaginative drinks menu. Food is also pretty perfect, desserts are a must do – but on this occasion, I just had cocktails. The Strawberry Daiquiri  they make is one of the nicest cocktails EVER. Another plus is that it’s also located right in the middle of the fashion floor, so you can indulge in both cocktails and shopping at the same time.
