Enjoying a Sunny Saturday in Leeds

Creams FreakshakeThere’s always so much to do in Leeds, but enjoying the city in the sunshine makes it just that bit more special. This weekend my friend and I spent a girly day enjoying cocktails, afternoon tea and some shopping. I discovered some new haunts, and also enjoyed some old favourites too…

First up was a stop at Creams for a freak shake (pictured above). There’s three options, but obviously being the chocoholic that I am, I went for the Chocolate Monster Freak – a combination of Nutella (yes to Nutella any day), vanilla ice cream, popping candy, chocolate cake (just incase you didn’t notice that) chocolate sauce, whipped cream and a macaron.

The Alchemist Greek Street

Then it was over to Greek Street for cocktails at The Alchemist. Greek Street has had a bit of an overhaul recently and it’s pretty much the place to be in the summertime. Cars are now a no-go down there, and the whole street has turned into an al fresco haven. We enjoyed a few cocktails outside here, but our favourites were the Solero (which actually tastes like a Solero) and the Rhubarb and Custard Sour (both pictured above). You could actually spend the entire afternoon down here, there’s plenty of eating and drinking to be done. Had we not been booked in for afternoon tea a bit later, we could have been enticed by the outdoor eating offers from Gusto and Wagamama. There’s also many more cocktails to be enjoyed at the likes of The Liquorist and Manahatta, also both offering outdoor spots, too.

Craft house Afternoon Tea

It was then over to Crafthouse for afternoon tea. Now I’m actually going to do a full review of this in a separate blog post, so I won’t go into too much detail now (or you maybe reading this post forever), but it was as amazing as it looks and I’ll definitely be returning.

Crafthouse Afternoon Tea

After all that eating and drinking, it was time to relax with a treatment at the Clarins Beauty Bar. I absolutely love this place (you can read more about it here). The ladies at Clarins really know their stuff, and I try and visit one every couple of months or so, to really treat my skin. This time I opted for the Get Glowing Facial, which was probably needed after all the cocktails and sugar.

I also popped into a few shops on my way down to Victoria Gate (the Beauty Bar is situated in John Lewis), including the White Company where I picked up a few more of my favourite diffusers. I also treat myself to a few bits from Clarins to take home with me; oh, and some chocolates from Creams earlier. It was then home to enjoy a takeaway curry and some box sets with my boyfriend to round off the loveliest day.
