Jimmy Choo Claudette Suede Platform Sandals Unboxing

Jimmy Choo Claudette Sandals

Do you want to know a secret? I got these for 50% in the January sales, yes – FIFTY PERCENT OFF MY DREAM SHOES. As luck had it, there was one pair left in my size, they had already been reduced, but due to the only pair being left… they were further reduced to half price – how lucky am I?! To further add to my feeling that this pair of shoes and I were meant to be… I was having a particularly stressful time on Monday evening, attempting to sort out a nightmare car insurance renewal (I know I’m being really boring here), anyway… I was literally on the verge of a full on strop breakdown, when all of a sudden the doorbell went, and as if surrounded by shimmering light and doves flying out from behind him – there stood my delivery driver with the box of dreams in his hand. Actually, not really; he looked really p****d off as it was raining and probably just wanted to get home for his dinner.

So, these shoes retail for £495; however, as I mentioned, I managed to get these at 50% off in the Net a Porter sale, and I do believe that currently they have a few sizes left in the silver colour and some have just been re added in the black. The shoes come in the most beautiful grey box, delicately wrapped inside with lots of white tissue paper, you’ll also find a dust bag in there too. I honestly think that the wrapping and presentation of these shoes adds to the excitement of unboxing, and they would therefore make the perfect all round gift for anyone super special in your life.

The shoes have a 4 inch heel (105mm), with a 15mm platform – now this is key here to what makes these shoes so amazing. I’ve tried this style of shoe before without the platform, and they were just agony. It was literally like walking on the bare floor on tiptoes, and because the style of shoe doesn’t have too much material, my feet just slid about everywhere. These are different, the small platform absorbs any shock to the foot, but also looks extremely dainty. My feet felt much more secure in these, and they are honestly one of the most comfortable pairs of heels I’ve ever worn. Another added benefit to these, is the very cleverly disguised gold trim just under the side of the heel – this gives the illusion of extra height, perfect for elongating those legs.

One thing I would note about Jimmy Choos is that the sole is leather. So much like Louboutins, you will get scuff marks on the bottom if you don’t protect your soles. However, the Jimmy Choo soles are a beige-cream leather and unlike Louboutins, I don’t feel it’s a necessity to protect them. I’ll protect mine, but that’s because I do that with all my designer shoes as I can’t justify ruining any part of them for the price I pay. But it’s definitely not a must do with these; and at the end of the day they are a shoe, so are meant to be worn.

I’m so pleased with this purchase, especially when you take into consideration the price I got them for – the quality of the shoe just speaks for itself. They’re a classic, timeless and elegant pair that just won’t go out of style. They are also very versatile, I feel that these would be the perfect accompaniment to an evening dress; look super girly and glamarous, and won’t cripple your feet; but could also be used to dress up a pair of jeans for a more relaxed occasion. The perfect purchase.
