Rose, Pistachio & Sea Salt Dark Chocolate Discs

These are taken from a Nigel Slater recipe that I found on The Guardians 20 Best Chocolate Recipes list. I’ve ever so slightly amended the idea myself – however, as this is such a versatile recipe, you can add or take out a variety of ingredients to suit your own personal taste. These are incredibly simple to create, and make such a beautiful and delicate offering that just bursts with flavour. They can be used to surprise friends with, or enjoy as a complete self indulgence… The choice is yours.

Ingredients:

200g good quality dark chocolate

A handful of chopped hazelnuts

Sea salt flakes

Edible rose petals (can be purchased at any good baking shop)

A large handful of pistachios

Method:

Melt the dark chocolate over a gentle heat, until completely runny.

Spoon into generously sized discs on a non-stick surface.

Roughly crush your pistachios, leaving some slightly larger pieces – I used a good old rolling pin to give them a bash. Sprinkle onto the discs.

Follow up by adding a small sprinkle of sea salt and a pinch of chopped hazelnuts to each disc.

Finally, decorate with your edible rose petals.

Transfer to the fridge for an hour or two and enjoy. Told you it was simple…
